FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is Giving Day?

Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 12 am to 11:59 pm.

What makes Giving Day different from other days?

On Northeastern’s Giving Day 2025, you will have the opportunity to make an even greater impact with your philanthropy. Timed challenges will inspire giving to a variety of different causes throughout the day. And thanks to generous members of the Northeastern community, Giving Day will award gifts to the challenge-winning schools and colleges, teams, and programs.

Who can participate in Giving Day?

Anyone! Gifts from all members of our community will be counted on April 10—alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, staff, neighbors, roommates, aunts, uncles, and even people on the street who love Northeastern. It doesn’t matter as long as you help support today’s Huskies!

How can I help?

Make your tax-deductible gift to any area of the university that inspires you the most before midnight on April 10!

Is there a minimum gift requirement?

Yes, our system accepts gifts of $5.00 or more on Giving Day.

I'd like to make a gift, but I don't see my fund of choice listed.

To support a fund not listed on the Giving Day site, please make your gift here and we'll make sure it gets counted in our Giving Day totals.

Can I make a Giving Day gift through my Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?

Yes, to make your gift through your Donor Advised Fund, fill out this form and we'll make sure it gets counted in our Giving Day totals.

Can Northeastern faculty and staff make payroll deduction gifts?

Yes, all current faculty and staff can set up a payroll deduction by filling out this form. If you are setting up a new deduction, your first payment will count towards Giving Day totals. If you have an existing deduction, we will count your March payment(s).

Is my payment secure?

Yes, all payments will be processed using a secure online giving form. The information collected during Giving Day will only be used by Northeastern University.

I’m trying to make multiple gifts but my credit card is no longer working. Do you know the reason?

Donors making multiple small gifts may have their credit cards disabled due to automated fraud protection programs. If you’re experiencing difficulty making multiple gifts, please contact your bank and/or your credit card company (Visa, MasterCard, etc).

How much of my donation goes to the fund I choose?

100% of your donation will go to the area(s) you select. Northeastern does not subtract a service fee from the value of your gift.
