Northeastern University Emergency Medical Services (NUEMS)
Northeastern University Emergency Medical Services (NUEMS) is a volunteer, student-run organization dedicated to keeping our campus safe. We currently provide first-aid coverage for Northeastern events while offering leadership, hands-on experience, and medical education opportunities to our members. Beyond campus, NUEMS is committed to community outreach, providing high-quality CPR certification classes to Northeastern students. We have recently launched a new initiative that offers free CPR education to the local Boston community. NUEMS also manages the university’s AED program and is proud to maintain the Boston campus recognition as a HEARTSafe Community by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Now, NUEMS is taking a major step forward—we are in the process of obtaining a Class V Ambulance License to deploy a non-transporting emergency response vehicle. This will allow us to provide faster, more efficient Basic Life Support (BLS) care on campus, reducing reliance on external ambulance services and ensuring quicker medical response times for the Northeastern community.
