Club Figure Skating
The Northeastern Figure Skating Club dates back to almost the start of Matthew’s Ice Arena being owned by Northeastern in 1979. The figure skating team has grown so much since then and is currently a group of 80 passionate figure skaters who come from a wide variety of skating backgrounds and strive to continue their skating career throughout their time at Northeastern. The team is led by the lovely coaches Julie Pondelli and Jaclyn Bozzetti, as well as their visiting coaches Kate McSwain & Laura Gayton for Choreography and Dance. This season, the team held their place at 6th in the Northeast Conference of the United States Figure Skating Collegiate Competitions against over 30 schools, reaching our highest ever team point total. We hosted our 5th annual Holiday Show in the Fall and have our upcoming Spring Show on March 19th, 2025 at 7:30 pm held at Matthew’s Ice Arena.
The team has grown substantially in the last several seasons thanks to the generous donations of our friends, parents, and alumni as well as extensive work by our student-run executive board to increase opportunities on and off the ice for our members. We rely on your donations to fund practice ice, coaching costs, competitions, shows, and travel that allow our large team to continue pursuing our passions. We appreciate every single donation that supports our goals and allows us to represent Northeastern to the best of our abilities!!
