Asian American Center
There are over 4,000 universities and colleges in the nation, yet only 33 have Asian American Centers. Northeastern University is one of the institutions committed to fostering learning and development for all its students.
The Asian American Center offers an inclusive environment that celebrates the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American experience, welcoming all students to participate. There are two physical Asian American Centers on campus designed to support students' identity development and provide a space where they can feel a sense of belonging.
The Asian American Center offers a first-year peer-to-peer mentoring program (AASIA), a professional development program for second-year students and beyond (NU GOAL), oversees the Pan Asian American Council (PAAC), and supports Asian American Heritage Month (AAHM). In addition to our flagship programs, the Asian American Center hosts events throughout the year for the community by collaborating with nonprofit organizations in the Boston area. These partnerships enable programming to be held on campus, providing our students with seamless access.
Some notable events that we partnered with our community include:
• Asian Women in Leadership Conference
• East Coast Asian American Student Union Summit
• Asian Mental Health Forum
• Asian American Resource Workshop
The Asian American Center aims to provide a dynamic and holistic experience for every student at Northeastern. Students do not need to identify as Asian to participate in programming or register for events. We welcome all students to our events to learn, grow, and develop their identities as part of their Northeastern experience.
These programs would not be possible without funding, which makes Giving Day one of the most important events of the year for us! There isn’t a donation too small or too large, and the staff at the Asian American Center greatly appreciates your support.
Cultural Centers Challenge
$20,000 will be split between the cultural centers when they collectively receive gifts from 175 donors on Giving Day
